Entitled ‘Vi Mot Viet Nam Xanh’ (Targeting a green Vietnam), the contest aims to create a venue for young participants to promote their creativity and contribute their ideas to protect the planet and mitigate the impacts of climate change through short videos and clips.

The entries will be used to raise public awareness, particularly amongst youngsters, of their responsibilities in protecting the environment and coping with climate change as well as other urgent issues in the country and the world in general.

The contest is intended for individuals and groups aged under 35, who can participate by recording short clips with a maximum length of 60 secs and by then posting them publicly on the TikTok platform with the full hashtag #vimotVietNamxanh.

The entries should also be posted on the contest’s official Facebook page at https://facebook.com/vimotvietnamxanh.vn/.

The contest will take place over six weeks from July 6 to August 6 with each week focussed on a specific topic including planting trees, preserving biodiversity, fighting against plastic waste and using recycled materials, saving energy, adapting to climate change, and protecting land, water and air.

Based on the result of each week and Facebook users’ votes, the organising board will present one first, two second and three third prizes, each worth VND10 million, VND5 million and VND3 million, respectively, to the most outstanding entries.

The contest’s winners will be honoured at an awards ceremony scheduled to be held this September in Hanoi.
