Under the guidance of coach Okiyama Masahiko, the U17 Viet Nam women’s team played a friendly match against the U17 Borussia Dortmund women’s side as part of their training camp in Germany. To test tactics and provide all players with match time, both teams agreed to play three periods, each lasting 30 minutes.

Right from the opening whistle, the young Viet Nam players entered the game with confidence, constantly putting pressure on the opponents’ goal. In the 15th minute, following a corner kick, the ball ricocheted off a home player into the net, giving the U17 Viet Nam women’s team the opening goal.

Just a few minutes later, Nguyen Thi Minh Anh doubled the lead with a tidy finish. In the 27th minute, Nguyen Thi Linh Chi struck a superb long-range shot to make it three to nil, before Truong Yen Linh was in the right place to tap in from close range, ending the first period with a four to nil scoreline.

In the second period, the U17 Borussia Dortmund players pushed higher up the pitch and managed to pull one back late in the half. However, the U17 Viet Nam women’s team remained solid and retained control of the game.

In the third period, Ha Yen Nhi scored with a sharp finish from a precise cross delivered from the opposite flank. The hosts added a second goal before Yen Nhi struck again to seal a six to two win for the U17 Viet Nam women’s team.

The positive result in their first friendly in Europe not only boosted the young players’ confidence but also provided the coaching staff with valuable assessments of personnel and tactics in preparation for the 2026 AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers.

This was considered a favourable start, creating positive momentum for the whole team during their training camp at Borussia Dortmund.
