Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung expressed appreciation to the LPRP for sending a delegation led by Bounleua Phandanouvong to attend and deliver remarks at the symposium on the role of political parties in building the ASEAN Community, describing it as a demonstration of the importance attached to bilateral party-to-party and state-to-state relations, as well as a commitment to promoting the implementation of high-level agreements.

Expressing his pleasure at returning to Vietnam and meeting Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung, Bounleua Phandanouvong highly appreciated the initiative to organise the symposium on the role of political parties in building the ASEAN Community, noting that it would help strengthen cooperation and solidarity among political parties in Southeast Asia. He also voiced confidence in the symposium’s success.

The Chairman of the Commission for External Relations of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party affirmed that the Lao Party and State consistently attach great importance and top priority to the special solidarity relationship between Viet Nam and Laos, while expressing gratitude for the warm and thoughtful reception extended by the Party, State and people of Viet Nam to the delegation.

The two sides highly valued the positive development of cooperation between the Party Committee of Viet Nam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the External Relations Commission of the LPRP, especially following the signing of their cooperation agreement for the 2026–2030 period.

They agreed to continue close coordination in effectively implementing high-level Viet Nam-Laos agreements and important bilateral projects; carefully preparing for high-level visits, meetings and key bilateral cooperation mechanisms; jointly organising the upcoming theoretical workshop between the Communist Party of Viet Nam and the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party; and closely coordinating and supporting each other at regional and international forums, particularly within ASEAN.

The two sides also agreed to coordinate closely in organising activities marking the 65th anniversary of Viet Nam-Laos diplomatic relations and the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Viet Nam-Laos Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation in 2027, thereby further deepening and enhancing the special solidarity relationship between the two countries in a more substantive and effective manner.
