Viet Nam–Bulgaria Friendship Association, Ha Noi chapter, makes great contributions to two countries’ relations

The Viet Nam–Bulgaria Friendship Association in general and its Ha Noi chapter in particular, have played an important role in preserving the traditional Viet Nam–Bulgaria friendship while creating new and meaningful areas of cooperation, thereby deepening the Viet Nam–Bulgaria Strategic Partnership.

The statement was made by Bulgarian Ambassador to Viet Nam Pavlin Todorov while attending the second Congress of the Viet Nam–Bulgaria Friendship Association, Ha Noi chapter, for 2025-2030 tenure, on November 30.

Bulgarian Ambassador to Viet Nam Pavlin Todorov stressed that the event took place at a time when relations between Bulgaria and Viet Nam are at their highest level of development. He noted that 2025 not only marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties, but also provides a significant milestone for reviewing past achievements and orienting the future development of the bilateral partnership.

On this occasion, Ambassador Todorov expressed his appreciation to the Ha Noi Vietnam–Bulgaria Friendship Association for its close and effective coordination with the Embassy of Bulgaria in Viet Nam in implementing activities aimed at strengthening mutual understanding and multifaceted cooperation between the peoples of Viet Nam and Bulgaria.

Speaking at the Congress, Tran Thi Phuong, Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the Ha Noi Union of Friendship Organisations, acknowledged the contributions of the Viet Nam–Bulgaria Friendship Association, Ha Noi chapter, toward enhancing the friendship and cooperation between Viet Nam and Bulgaria, affirming that the Association’s activities have helped promote the images of Ha Noi and Viet Nam to international friends.

During the 2020–2025 tenure, the Viet Nam–Bulgaria Friendship Association, Ha Noi chapter, achieved many notable accomplishments in fostering friendly relations and cooperation; organising activities that promote peace, solidarity, and friendship between the people of Ha Noi and the people of Sofia, thereby contributing to the city’s people-to-people diplomacy in line with the Party’s and the State’s external relations efforts.

For this tenure, the Association will continue to organise people-to-people diplomacy activities with practical content and diverse forms that reflect Ha Noi’s cultural identity; further strengthen and promote the traditional friendship between the peoples of Viet Nam and Bulgaria in general, and between the people of Ha Noi and Sofia in particular; and look ahead to the 80th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2030.
