VietinBank, Vietcombank make world's list of 500 most valuable banking brands

The Vietnam Bank for Industry and Trade (VietinBank) and the Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) were listed on “The Banking 500 - The world's most valuable banking brands of 2015” conducted by Brand Finance.

According to Brand Finance's report, Vietinbank ranked 437th with a brand value of US$197 million and brand rating of A while Vietcombank ranked 487th with a brand value of US$157 million and brand rating of A+.

This is the third time that Vietinbank was listed on Brand Finance's Top 500 after recognition in 2013 and 2012 ranking the bank 328th and 434th respectively. 2015 marked the first time Vietcombank entered the list.

The US's Wells Fargo came first on the list with a brand value of US$34.9 billion and has claimed the title for the third consecutive year. China's ICBC came in second with a brand value of US$27.4 billion while HSBC ranked third and is valued at over US$27.2 billion.

Brand Finance is the world’s leading independent brand valuation and strategy consultancy set up in 1996. The Banking 500 is an annual ranking of the most valuable brands in banking and is published in the February edition of The Banker.
