The Vietnam Online Shopping Day - Online Friday 2024, themed “Being proud of Vietnamese goods standing shoulder to shoulder with global brands”, officially opened in Hanoi on November 29.

This is not only the largest online shopping event of the year but also a testament to the strong advancement of Vietnamese goods in the era of e-commerce.

Online Friday 2024 takes place from midnight on November 29 to noon on December 1, featuring a wide range of content creators and operators on digital platforms (such as Vitamin, VTVcab, Accesstrade, Blivee, Byscom, PT Group, Tikmax) will participate.

This is also one of the prominent activities within the tasks of the National E-commerce Development Programme for the 2021-2025 period, as approved by the Government. The event is significant for the community to work together, building solutions to focus on citizens and consumers while fostering a healthy, competitive, and sustainable e-commerce market.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan stated that in recent years, Vietnam's e-commerce has affirmed its pioneering role in the digital economy. Despite global and regional economic challenges, Vietnam's e-commerce continues to maintain impressive growth rates of 18-25% annually.

In 2023, Vietnam's e-commerce recorded a growth rate of 25%, with a revenue scale of 20.5 billion USD. It is forecasted that in 2024, the market size will exceed 25 billion USD, clearly demonstrating the sustainable development and potential of this sector.

In addition, the collaboration between major e-commerce platforms such as TikTok Shop, Sendo, and local Departments of Industry and Trade is also a highlight of this year's programme.
