Carrying a 2-0 first-leg advantage, Kim Sang-sik’s team completed the job at Viet Tri Stadium to set up the title match with either Thailand or the Philippines.
VAR denied Singapore an early lead in the 19th minute before Vietnam were denied two minutes later with Chau Ngoc Quang’s close-range header disallowed by the referee.
Singapore dominated ball possession later on but it was the Vietnamese side who opened the scoring in the 39th minute.
Nguyen Xuan Son was brought down in the box and the naturalised player scored the resulting penalty to put Kim Sang-sik’s side in front.
Three minutes after the hour mark, Xuan Son doubled Vietnam’s advantage with a comfortable close-range finish following a convenient pass from Hoang Duc.

With his brace in the game, forward Xuan Son surged past Singapore’s Shawal Anuar to lead the tournament’s goal-scoring tally (five goals).
Kyoga Nakamura pulled back a goal for the Singaporean side by rifling a stunning long-range strike in the 74th minute.
However, the guests’ hopes of a comeback was extinguished as substitute Nguyen Tien Linh converted a penalty three minutes into stoppage times to seal a 3-1 second-leg victory and a 5-1 aggregate win for Vietnam in the semifinals.
Vietnam’s title-match opponents will be determined tomorrow as Thailand play the Philippines on home field.
