Vietnam Airlines increases flight frequencies to Con Dao

National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines will increase the number of flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Con Dao starting from mid-March to meet the high demand for travel to the island off the coast of Vung Tau.

Specifically, daily flights between the two destinations will rise to 26-30 in March, up nearly 50% compared to February.

Vietnam Airlines are using ATR-72 aircraft and offering two classes for this route: premium economy and economy.

A greater frequency will make it more convenient for passengers to fly from Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao as well as for those from northern cities such as Hanoi, Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa, and Vinh with a stop at Tan Son Nhat Airport.

The national flag carrier also selected Con Dao as the first locality to implement its sustainable route project with activities to protect the environment.

Accordingly, all plastic wastes and bags on the flights to Con Dao will be collected and transported to the mainland for processing. Flight attendants will also call on passengers to join the effort by restricting single-use plastics during their stay on the island.

In 2023, Vietnam Airlines accounted for 72% of the total number of passengers travelling to Con Dao by air.

Con Dao is known not only for its beautiful beaches and pristine natural landscapes but also for its historical sites associated with the country’s heroic struggle for national independence.
