Kim told a press conference ahead of the match that he and the coaching team tried hard to convey the exercises and strategies to the players, despite having only five days of training.

He noted that the players are passionate, determined and aspire to win, but also need some improvements in tactics.

Kim hopes that the players compete confidently and fans will accompany the team.

At the press conference, player Do Hung Dung said the whole team's goal is a win, but it is not easy with only a few days of training.

Vietnam currently ranks third, above the Philippines, in Group F after four matches of the second round of World Cup qualification. Vietnam beat the Philippines 2-0 in the first leg at Rizal Memorial Stadium.
