Vietnam - Cuba Friendship Hospital provides charity surgeries for 18,000 children with facial deformities

The Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Hospital has coordinated with medical units in 35 provinces and cities nationwide to perform humanitarian surgeries for more than 18,000 children with cleft lips and cleft palates.

The information was released at a ceremony marking the 55th anniversary of the hospital, which was held in Hanoi on June 17.

On the occasion, the hospital was honoured with a certificate of merit from the Hanoi People’s Committee in recognition of its achievements over recent years.

Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Health Nguyen Dinh Hung appreciated the efforts made over the past 55 years of the Vietnam - Cuba Friendship Hospital, especially its achievements in dentistry, otorhinolaryngology, and cosmetic surgery.

Hung shared his hope that the hospital will continue to promote the tradition of health cooperation with Cuba and conduct more coordinated programmes to bring smiles to patients.

During its 55 years of development, the Vietnam - Cuba Friendship Hospital has focused on fostering its key specialties with the goal of providing comprehensive health care for patients.
