Following the opening ceremony, an art programme delighted audiences with songs, traditional dances and ballet performances praising the two countries.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Vietnam Cultural Week in Cambodia, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong shared that Vietnam and Cambodia have witnessed long-standing solidarity, cooperation, friendship and neighbourliness, while the bilateral cooperation between the two countries has developed strongly, bringing practical benefits to the two peoples.

The cultural exchange programmes have significantly contributed to enhancing the friendship and mutual understandings between the two countries. Notably, the 2022 Vietnam Cultural Week in Cambodia is an event of important significance in the implementation of the agreements signed by senior leaders as well as the cultural cooperation plan between Vietnam and Cambodia for 2018-2022 period, said Deputy Minister Cuong.
The event will introduce Cambodian people and international friends to the beauty of Vietnam through a series of art performances and photo exhibitions on Vietnamese culture, education and world heritages in Vietnam.
For his part, Cambodian Minister of Culture and Fine Arts Phoeurng Sackona warmly welcomed the Vietnam Cultural Week while expressing his hope that the week will contribute to developing the close relations between the two nations.

Also yesterday, Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong held talks with Minister of Culture and Fine Arts of Cambodia Phouerng Sackona.
The two sides informed each other of their activities in celebration of the 55th anniversary of Vietnam – Cambodia diplomatic ties and Vietnam – Cambodia, Cambodia – Vietnam Friendship Year 2022.
