Vietnam Dance Week 2023 officially kicks off

The northern region’s Vietnam Dance Week 2023, officially opened at Thong Nhat Park in Hanoi on October 27, offering an opportunity for dancers, choreographers and dance instructors to exchange, engage, compete, and find effective development directions and operating models, to affirm the role and position of dance art in today's social life.

It can be said that Vietnam Dance Week 2023 is a step forward on the journey of spreading the quintessential values of dance art into social life and contributing to building the community value system, said People's Artist Pham Anh Phuong, Chairman of the Vietnam Dance Artists Association (VDAA).

This year’s Vietnam Dance Week was held in Ho Chi Minh City, from October 19-21 and in Hanoi, from October 25-29.

The event consists of three contents including the Vietnamese ethnic groups’ folk dance competition, the Vietnamese-international dance festival and the launch of the "Hand in hand dance".

At the opening ceremony, international friends, representatives of embassies and foreign cultural centres with developed dance arts were welcomed, along with Vietnamese dance artists who have made great contributions to the country’s dance arts.
