Taking place on November 28 and 29, this year’s conference, themed “Effective Prosecution Service in the Technological Age”, brought together approximately 140 participants from 30 countries and territories.
During a special plenary session on enhancing international cooperation through mutual legal assistance in criminal matters and addressing emerging challenges, Giang highlighted the role of his office, acknowledged the valuable support provided by prosecutorial bodies in handling mutual legal assistance requests from Vietnam, and proposed measures to enhance the effectiveness of the activity in combating transnational organised crimes and cybercrimes.
On the sidelines, he held talks with Paul Lam Ting-kwok, Secretary for Justice of Hong Kong, who invited the Vietnamese delegation to the conference.
Both sides agreed to boost the negotiations of a mutual legal assistance agreement in criminal matters between Vietnam and Hong Kong, aiming to bolster the fight against cross-border and transnational crimes, cybercrimes, and financial crimes. They said their agencies will step up cooperation in exchanging expertise and training personnel.
