Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister and Vice Chairman of the Central Steering Committee on Judicial Reform, Nguyen Xuan Phuc called on the judiciary to take a more proactive stance in bringing the reforms called for in the resolution to life.

Speaking at the session, Deputy PM Phuc emphasised that Politburo Resolution No. 49-NQ/T.Ư on judicial reform strategies up to 2020 aims to build an effective independent judicial system to protect the truth, dignity and property of organisations and citizens.

He spoke highly of the prior efforts made by the VSPP and specifically praised them for their active involvement in the process of collecting comments to the draft revised 1992 Constitution.

He also asked the VSPP to co-ordinate with other relevant agencies to take the lead in amending the Constitution and legal system and focus on training its staff so that they are qualified to take on tasks entrusted by the Party, State and people.
