Vietnam provides Laos with 1,000 doses of drug addiction treatment medicine

The Working Group of the Ministry of Health handed over 1,000 doses of the drug Bong Sen (for drug addiction treatment) to Laos at Cau Treo International Border Gate in the central province of Ha Tinh on February 21.

The Bong Sen doses, which help in addiction cessation, was among the 62 products recognised by the Ministry of Health as outstanding Vietnamese pharmaceuticals products in 2014.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Duc Manh, Deputy Director of the Department of HIV-AIDS Prevention and Control under the Ministry of Health highly appreciated Laos' drug prevention and control measures in recent years.

He expressed hope that these doses will contribute to the treatment of drug addiction in Laos.

A representative from the Lao Minister of Public Security expressed his thanks for the Vietnamese Government's regular support to Laos.

The Lao side was committed to distributing and using the doses in an appropriate manner and will regularly update the situation and report to Vietnam.

He also expressed his wish that the friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries will grow and last forever.
