Vietnam successfully defended their title as champions at the second Asian Shuttlecock Championships and Asian Youth Shuttlecock Championships, which wrapped up in Thua Thien Hue Province on August 26.

With eight golds and six silver medals, the Vietnamese team ranked first in the tournament, followed by China and Hong Kong (China).

The five-day event was jointly held by the Vietnam Shuttlecock Federation and the Thua Thien Hue Provincial Department of Culture and Sports.

The event attracted the participation of 240 male and female athletes from nine countries and territories worldwide, including China, Hong Kong (China), Macau (China), Taiwan (China), Mongolia, Laos, Thailand, India, and Vietnam.

The athletes vied for seven sets of medals across seven categories: men’s team, women’s team, men’s doubles, women’s doubles, men’s singles, women’s singles, and mixed doubles.

The Asian event was first held in Hong Kong (China) in 2023, in which Vietnam topped the overall rankings with 11 golds and 3 silver medals.
