The tournament, which is part of the Badminton World Federation (BWF) Super Series Premier system, will bring together the world’s top ten badminton players including Lee Chong Wei (Malaysia), Lin Dan and Chen Long (China), and Peter Hoeg Gade (Denmark).

After falling to ninth place in the world rankings, Minh is not included in the top eight seeded players at the tournament and will face many challenges as he takes on strong rivals right from the first round.

In his first match, he will face Yun Hu from Hong Kong (China), who is placed 23rd in the world rankings.

If Minh advances to the next round, he will likely meet world No. 3 Chen Long from China, who he defeated 21-15, 21-12 at the Thomas & Uber Cup Preliminary Asia Zone in Chinese Macau.

The All England tourney is one of the world's oldest and most prestigious individual badminton events with cash prizes totalling US$350,000.

Minh said the tournament is a good chance for him to prepare for the London 2012 Olympics and earn more points to improve his place in the world rankings.

After this event, Minh will then go to Basel in Switzerland to compete in the US$125,000 Swiss Open Grand Prix Gold 2012 from March 13-18.
