Vietnamese culture promoted through events abroad

Vietnam Days Abroad 2022 will be held in Austria, India and the Republic of Korea (RoK) on the occasion of the anniversaries of the diplomatic ties between Vietnam and these countries.

Speaking at the press conference on Vietnam Days Abroad 2022, held in Hanoi on September 23, Deputy Head of the Department of Cultural Affairs and UNESCO Tran Quoc Khanh emphasised that Vietnam is a country with a long-standing cultural tradition and history as well as many cultural heritages and natural wonders recognised by the world.

In addition, Vietnamese people have all the necessary qualities to confidently integrate with the world, added Khanh.

He also noted that the events will be the chance to convey messages that express Vietnam’s wish to further deepen its cooperation with the countries as well as introduce internationals to the image of a beautiful nation that is rich in cultural identity and full of potential for development.

The activities are also expected to promote the bilateral and multilateral cooperation opportunities in all fields.

Specifically, this year’s programmes will be held in both direct and online forms so that people around the world can learn more about Vietnamese culture.

Vietnam Day in Austria will take place on September 28-29 in in Vienna. Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son will cut the ribbon to open the Vietnam Cultural Space as well as co-chair the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Austria diplomatic relations and the opening ceremony of the Vietnam – Austria Business Forum.

In addition to providing an overview of cooperation and friendship while promoting opportunities for enhancing the economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, Vietnam Day in Austria 2022 will feature the unique art forms of Vietnam such as tea art, Dong Ho folk paintings, lacquer painting, and traditional instruments.

Notably, the ceremony to mark the 50th anniversary of Vietnam – Austria diplomatic ties will draw the participation of both Vietnamese and Austrian artists.

Vietnam Day in India 2022 is scheduled in New Delhi on November 3-4, with the highlights being an art programme and the Vietnam – India Business Forum.

At the opening ceremony of Vietnam Cultural Space, Indian people will have the chance to exchange and learn about Vietnam’s culture including vegetarian cuisine and tea art.

Meanwhile, Vietnam Day in the RoK will be held from late November to early December in the capital city of Seoul on the occasion of Vietnamese senior leaders’ visit to the RoK.

The programme will contribute to promoting the image of the land and people of Vietnam and tightening the friendship between the two countries through various activities such as a ceremony to mark the 30th anniversary of Vietnam – RoK diplomatic ties, a business forum, a cinema, and culinary exchange events.

On the occasion, Vietnamese tea art, water puppetry and Dong Ho paintings will be on display in the Vietnam Cultural Space.

Within the framework of the Vietnam Days in Austria, India and the RoK, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will coordinate with the partners to launch two products via digital platform including the virtual exhibition on Vietnamese lacquer paintings in German and Korean languages at the website https://tranhsonmai.baotangso.com and a game on Vietnamese culture via https://www.lacbird.com/pcweb.
