He emphasised that the recent official visit to Laos by the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation led by President Vo Van Thuong affirms Vietnam's consistent policy of attaching importance and priority to cultivating the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos.

Earlier, in January, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh became the first foreign senior leader to visit Laos in 2023 and also the first foreign partner to be welcomed by Sonexay Siphandone after taking office as Prime Minister of Laos.
