At the reception, Ambassador Buakeo Phumvongsay expressed his pleasure and honour from General Secretary To Lam and his spouse, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, attending the 50th anniversary of Lao National Day; he thanked the party, state, and people of Viet Nam for always showing their good feelings and sincere support to the country and people of Laos.
The ambassador emphasised that Viet Nam and Laos are two close neighbours, the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and the Communist Party of Viet Nam share the same origin as the Indochinese Communist Party, which was cultivated by President Ho Chi Minh, President Kaysone Phomvihane, and President Souphanouvong.
Throughout the history of each country, since its establishment, the two parties have always been united together, leading the army and people of the two countries side by side, sharing joys and sorrows, defeating the common enemy, achieving complete victory, and liberating their nations; while at the same time working together to build and develop the country in the new situation. The ambassador believed that the relationship between the two countries will continue to be strengthened and developed to new heights.
The ambassador also emphasised that adding the element of “strategic cohesion” in the relationship between the two countries in the new era of development that the leaders of the two countries recently agreed upon in Vientiane will create conditions for Viet Nam and Laos to develop even more strongly in the coming time, meeting the aspirations of the people of the two countries.
Ambassador Nguyen Minh Vu and the staff of the Vietnamese Embassy wish to continue to cooperate closely with the Lao Embassy, making positive contributions to the relationship between the two countries; as well as agree to regularly organise exchange programmes to strengthen friendship, contributing to further enriching the relationship between the two countries in the coming time.
