In his remarks at the ceremony, Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam reviewed the historical milestones of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), highlighted the significant contributions of President Ho Chi Minh and revolutionary heroes, as well as the CPV's achievements since its establishment, especially the country's accomplishments during nearly 40 years of Doi moi (renewal) process.

Tam emphasised the historical roles of the CPV and the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) in the revolutionary causes of both countries. He stressed the coordination and solidarity between the two Parties throughout the fight against the common enemies as well as in the current process of national defence, construction, and development.

The ambassador also underscored the importance of the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States, and peoples which were founded by Vietnamese President Ho Chi Minh and Lao Presidents Kaysone Phomvihane and Souphanouvong and have been nurtured by generations of leaders and people of the two countries, becoming an invaluable shared asset and a unique relationship in the world history.

Additionally, Tam briefed participants on the remarkable achievements that Vietnam has obtained in 2024 across various fields, including politics, defence, security, economy, and foreign affairs. He noted that the Embassy, Consulate Generals, and affiliated agencies have actively coordinated with the Lao Party and State to effectively implement agreements, treaties, and cooperative programmes. Vietnamese enterprises and communities in Laos have also achieved many successes.

Building on these results, the Embassy of Vietnam in Laos is determined to effectively carry out its tasks in 2025 - a year of special significance as Vietnam strives to successfully realise goals set in the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and prepares for the 14th National Party Congress, Tam said.

He went on to say that the year will also mark major milestones, such as the 95th founding anniversary of the CPV (February 3, 1930 – 2025), the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 – 2025), the 135th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - 2025). Laos will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the LPRP, the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, the 105th birth anniversary of President Kaysone Phomvihane, and preparations for the LPRP’s 12th National Congress.

On this occasion, the Ambassador handed over certificates of merits to officials and Party members with outstanding achievements in 2024 and organised a badminton tournament to celebrate the 95th founding anniversary of the CPV.
