Vietnamese, Lao public security ministries boost comprehensive cooperation

Deputy Minister To, who accompanied Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to the ongoing 44th and 45th ASEAN Summit in Vientiane, said after the 18th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Transnational Crime (AMMTC-18), the two ministries have enhanced coordination, especially in training cooperation and preparing human resources to implement projects.

He affirmed Vietnam and Laos are neighbours connected by mountains and rivers, and boast long-lasting bonds. In particular, in recent decades, the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation have continued to be consolidated and constantly developed, thus contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

He underlined the special important role of the two ministries in maintaining national security and social order and safety.

The host highly value cooperation between the two countries and the two ministries in particular, especially the support from the Vietnamese ministry in implementing projects and training cooperation for the Lao public security force in recent times.

He proposed the two countries’ public security forces continue boosting comprehensive cooperation to meet requirements and tasks in the new situation, for the benefit of both nations’ people.
