Since joining the UN mission in South Sudan in April 2025, Lieutenant Colonel Pham Van Doan has actively researched and applied information technology in performing his duties.

After he was assigned to work at the patrol unit of the Juba Police Department in May, Doan identified several shortcomings through his practical experience, so he spent time outside his official working hours to find a solution for his unit.

During the software development process, he sought approval for a trial run and collected feedback from his colleagues and leaders to refine the software.

After a successful two-week trial period, the software was officially accepted for use on July 4 and Doan was praised for his contributions despite having worked at the unit for only a short time.

He has since been transferred to the Juba Police Department’s training unit so that he can continue to leverage his skills and strengths.

This has affirmed the professionalism and constant innovation of Vietnamese police officers and peacekeeping officers in general in a multinational working environment.
