>>> Tennis: Nam reaches semis at Egypt F27 Futures
In the second round, Nam stunned everyone as he overcame Temur Ismailov of Uzbekistan, who is no.3 seed with 609 notches above Nam (1053rd place) in the ATP ladders, in two straight sets with the same score of 6/4.
The victory boosted Nam’s confidence, inspiring him to promptly overcome world no. 1,333 Seong Kwan Kim 2-0 (6/1, 6/3) after just 58 minutes of play.
Nam’s semifinal challenger will be the winner of the quarterfinal clash between no. 7 seed, Matthias Wunner of Germany and no.2 seed, Liang Chi Huan of Chinese Taipei.
The Cambodia F2 Futures is taking place in Phnom Penh from November 30 to December 6, offering US$10,000 in total prize money. The week-long event features competition from many of the world’s strongest players, including top seed Yannick Jankovits of France (world no. 230).
Earlier in late November, Nam could not create a stir at the 2015 Cambodia F1 Futures as he was soon knocked out of the tournament following a first-round loss to no. 3 seed and world no.459, Kim Cheong-Eui of the RoK.
