The event, co-organised by Nhan Dan Newspaper and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, aimed to clarify the potential and current state of the cooperation between tourism and cinema as well as propose solutions for overall tourism growth and for enhancing the collaboration between tourism and cinema, to attract more international tourists to Vietnam.

In addition, the speakers also discussed solutions to attract investors, filmmakers, and tourists from the US to Vietnam. Representatives from the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, along with the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, highlighted key aspects of the Vietnam Tourism and Cinema Promotion Programme in the US, discussed the promotion and marketing of Vietnam's tourism industry, and the upcoming innovations in the near future.

Addressing the seminar, Member of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper Le Quoc Minh, who is also Deputy Head of the PCC’s Commission for Communications and Education and Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association, affirmed that Vietnamese Party and State have consistently prioritised tourism development and granted investment in making tourism a key economic sector, which in turn drives the robust expansion of other industries.

He also noted that following the COVID-19 pandemic, domestic tourism has been making a remarkable recovery, strengthening communications and promotion. Developing promotional programmes and media campaigns using innovative approaches is essential to boost the sector further.

In recent years, Nhan Dan Newspaper, as an official media outlet of the Party and State and a platform for the people, has actively developed numerous communication campaigns to promote the country’s image, the beauty of its people, and the unique values of Vietnamese culture.

Aligned with this goal, the forum served as an opportunity to listen to and amplify the insights and experiences of experts, managers, and leaders from various sectors. It also seeks to propose appropriate solutions and strategies to leverage a new and highly potential aspect of tourism development: tourism through cinema and culture.

In his speech at the event, Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung stated that this was the second time the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and Nhan Dan Newspaper had come together to seek solutions for advancing the country's tourism industry.

Looking ahead, the Minister stressed the need to further promote policies, resolutions, and directives from the Party and Government to ensure that all citizens and businesses are well-informed. This collective awareness will help drive the tourism sector into becoming a key economic sector.
