The index closed 10.89 points higher after gaining 8.73 points on August 30.
Trading on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE) rose by 2.33% to 21.35 trillion VND (885.98 million USD).
The VN-30 basket, comprising the 30 largest capped stocks, saw 22 tickers gain.
The HNX-Index at the Hanoi Stock Exchange advanced 0.72% while the UPCoM-Index at the Unlisted Public Companies Market was up by 0.69%.
