VN-Index drops by 1.73% on October 17

Vietnam’s benchmark VN-Index fell by 1.73% to 1,121.65 points on October 17, extending losses from the previous trading day.

The Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, where the index is based, witnessed 107 gainers and 378 losers, with the total trading volume at 13,632.7 billion VND (558.74 million USD), down 10% from a day earlier.

In Hanoi, the HNX-Index also dropped by 2.72% to 230.03 points, with 47 gainers and 119 losers. The total trading volume reached 1,942 billion VND (79.64 million USD).

The UPCoM-Index of unlisted public companies lost 0.8% to 86.65 points.
