The Thursday trading sessions witnessed gains in 205 stocks and losses in another 162 on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange.
The main contributors were VHM and VCB, which rose 3% and 2.4% respectively, while VN-Index was also powered by other blue chips such as VIB, TCB, VJC, GAS, BCM, SSI and FPT.
On the other side, DIG was the most outstanding with a loss of 7%, driven by selling pressure in the final minutes.
In Hanoi, the HNX-Index closed up by a slight 0.07% to 213.01 points as gains were seen in 77 stocks, while 80 recorded losses.
The UpCoM-Index of unlisted public companies rose by 0.2% to reach 80.91 points.
