According to the Vietnam Trade Office in Singapore, Vietnam remained Singapore's ninth-largest trading partner after two months of 2025, with exports to the island nation surging by 23.21% to exceed 1.51 billion SGD.
In February 2025 alone, total trade turnover between Vietnam and Singapore amounted to over 3.18 billion SGD, a significant 40.41% increase year-on-year. Vietnam’s exports to Singapore maintained a strong growth rate of 31.01%, reaching 721.37 million SGD, while imports also saw a robust rise of 43.43%, reaching nearly 2.46 billion SGD.
Key export categories from Vietnam to Singapore continued to record impressive growth, particularly in three major product groups: machinery, equipment, mobile phones, components, and spare parts (up 65.25%), reactors, boilers, machine tools, and related equipment (up 68.83%), and glass and glass products (up 87.27%).
Other categories, such as optical instruments, measuring devices, medical equipment, watches, and musical instruments also experienced substantial growth.
With this surge, Vietnam has become Singapore's seventh-largest export partner and 14th-largest import partner.
According to Mr Cao Xuan Thang, Vietnam’s Trade Counselor in Singapore, the Vietnam Trade Office will continue to update businesses on market developments, mechanisms, and policies, and support Vietnamese enterprises in trade promotion, brand development, and export opportunities to Singapore.
Vietnamese businesses are also receiving assistance in showcasing products, increasing their presence in Singapore, and fostering bilateral trade.
