Vietnamese, Cambodian leaders exchange greetings on 55th anniversary of diplomatic ties

Party and State leaders of Vietnam and Cambodia have exchanged letters of greetings on the 55th anniversary of the countries’ diplomatic relations and the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Year 2022.

For Vietnam’s part, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong sent a congratulatory letter to President of the Cambodian People’s Party Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc extended his greetings to King Norodom Sihamoni, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent his congratulations to his counterpart Samdech Techo Hun Sen, and National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue extended congratulations to President of the Senate Samdech Say Chhum and President of the National Assembly Samdech Heng Samrin.

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong visited and presented a basket of flower to congratulate Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper to mark the occasion of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21).

The same day, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue attended a ceremony to mark the 97th Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day at the Dai bieu Nhan dan (People’s Representatives) newspaper in Hanoi.

Also on the occasion of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc on June 20 held a meeting with representatives of press agencies in Ho Chi Minh City.

Mozambican Assembly President concludes Vietnam visit

President of the Mozambican Assembly Esperanca Laurinda Francisco Nhiuane Bias concluded her official visit to Vietnam on June 23.

During the visit from June 18-23, which was made at the invitation of Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, the Mozambican legislative leader held talks with NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, paid a courtesy visit to President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, had a meeting with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and met with standing member of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee Vo Van Thuong.

Scientists honoured with L’Oréal-UNESCO International Rising Talent Award

The Jury of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) and the L’Oréal Foundation on June 22 presented the L’Oréal-UNESCO International Rising Talent Award in 2022 to Dr. Ho Thi Thanh Van, a chemicals scientist who is working at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment.

With her research in developing new materials to the production of green hydrogen, Dr. Van has become one of the 15 young women scientists representing the five continents in the world to receive the award.

Binh Duong among Top 7 Intelligent Communities worldwide

Binh Duong smart city of the southern province of the same name was named in the 2022 Top 7 Intelligent Communities worldwide at a ceremony on June 21.

The Intelligent Community Forum (ICF) and Binh Duong province jointly hosted the 2022 Top 7 Intelligent Communities Conference & Announcement: After the Pandemic: How Digital Innovation Drives Growth in Our Communities.

The Top7 Communities are chosen from among the Smart21 Communities of 2022 to be finalists in the yearly Intelligent Community Awards.

Nguyen Thi Ngoc Chau crowned Miss Universe Vietnam 2022

Nguyen Thi Ngoc Chau, a 28-year-old beauty from Tay Ninh Province, was crowned Miss Universe Vietnam 2022 at the pageant’s finale held in Ho Chi Minh City on June 25.

Chau has a height of 1.74m and body measurements of 81-63-92.5cm, is a professional model who was crowned the winner of Vietnam’s Next Top Model 2016, winning the title of Miss Supranational Vietnam 2018 and was crowned Miss Supranational Asia 2019.

Le Thao Nhi, a representative from Ho Chi Minh City, was named the first runner-up while Huynh Pham Thuy Tien, from Dong Thap Province, was the second runner-up.

Hue Festival 202 opens with colourful show

The week-long Hue Festival 2022 kicked off on June 25 evening by a unique art programme and an Ao Dai (Vietnamese traditional gown) show.

With the theme "Cultural heritage with integration and development", the opening ceremony of Hue Festival 2022 took place at Ngo Mon Square, attracting thousands of visitors.

The opening ceremony introduced cultural values and identities of the Hue ancient capital city, and Thua Thien-Hue province at large, which is striving to grow further, to visitors.

Vietnamese jujitsu fighters win four golds at 'beach world cup'

Vietnam won four golds on the first day of competition at the Jujitsu International Federation World Cup Beach 2022, on June 23 on Jomtien Beach, Pattaya, Thailand.

SEA Games champion Dao Hong Son made the most remarkable victories with all three wins by submission in the men's U56kg.

Earlier, world champion Phung Thi Hue secured gold in the women's U45kg category. Hoang Thi Nhat Que won the women's U70kg class and Pham Tri Dung topped the men's U69kg pool.
