The award winners include 53 micro-entrepreneurs, 15 credit officers and 10 microfinance institutions.
At the awards ceremony, To Hoai Nam, Vice President of the Vietnam Small and Medium Enterprises, highlighted the achievements of microfinance institutions in poverty reduction by providing small loans to poor and low-income households in rural areas.
Over the past five years, nearly 400 individuals and organisations have been commended with the CMAs in recognition of their efforts to develop an efficient and sustainable microfinance sector.
The CMA is a global award sponsored by the Citi Foundation and this is the sixth time that the programme has been organised in Vietnam.
