The teams are divided into four groups of four teams, playing in a round-robin format to decide the top two teams in each group for the quarterfinals.
The event, which runs until July 14, is being hosted by the ‘Thieu nien Tien phong va Nhi dong’ (Young Pioneers and Children) Newspaper, the Vietnam Football Federation, and the Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture and Sports.
Over its 26 editions, the annual championship has been established as an interesting venue for young football lovers while discovering new talents for the national football team.
Many prominent football players have been detected through the tournament, such as Nguyen Quang Hai, Van Toan, Van Thanh, Luong Xuan Truong, Duy Manh, and Nham Manh Dung.
