A total of 50 teams from 40 cities and provinces across the country, will compete at the National U11 Football Tournament 2023, which will take place from May 25 to August 6.

This was announced at a press conference held on May 9, by the ‘Thieu nien Tien phong va Nhi dong’ (Young Pioneers and Children) Newspaper and the Vietnam Football Federation.

The tournament has been held successfully and professionally over the past 26 years and contributes to detecting many talented footballers in the country, such as Quang Hai, Duy Manh, Dinh Trong, Van Hau and Van Toan.

Speaking at the press conference, journalist Nguyen Phan Khue, Editor-in-Chief of ‘Thieu nien Tien phong va Nhi dong’ Newspaper said, that the tournament aimed to create a venue for kids to play football while finding out new talents for the national football team.

The qualification round of the tournament will be divided into three regional groups, which will be organised from May 25 to July 12.

The best teams of each region will advance to the final round, which was scheduled from July 24 to August 6, in Buon Ma Thuot City, Dak Lak Province.
