The 2026 National Outstanding Archers Championship brings together 198 athletes from 12 delegations nationwide, including localities with strong archery movements such as Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Vinh Long Province.

Athletes will compete in a variety of individual, doubles, and team events for men, women, and mixed categories, with distances ranging from 30 metres to 90 metres. The competition includes both qualification rounds and knockout stages. The host delegation, Quang Ninh, is represented by 28 athletes competing in recurve and compound events across the distances of the tournament.

Nguyen Thanh Tung, Deputy Director of the Quang Ninh Provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and Head of the Organising Committee, said that this is an important tournament within the national competition system, aimed at assessing athletes’ professional performance and selecting outstanding individuals for the national team. With a well-invested, modern, and synchronised sports infrastructure, Quang Ninh has in recent years been a regular host and has successfully organised many major sporting events at national, regional and international levels.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, athletes began competing in the all-around events. With the participation of many top archers, the tournament promises exciting contests and a high level of professional quality.

The championship aims to evaluate training standards and competitive capacity of athletes from various localities and sectors, thereby identifying and selecting talented athletes for further training and inclusion in the national team. It also provides an opportunity to assess the capability and professional standards of referees, managers, and support staff involved in organising national competitions.

The tournament is scheduled to conclude on April 9, featuring individual, doubles, and team events for men, women, and mixed categories across various distances.
