To mark the 100th anniversary of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 – June 21, 2025), Nguyen Doan Anh, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, visited and congratulated the leaders, staff, and reporters of Nhan Dan Newspaper in Ha Noi on the morning of June 16. The delegation was received by Le Quoc Minh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communication, Education and Mass Mobilisation, and Chairman of the Viet Nam Journalists Association.
In his remarks, Nguyen Doan Anh expressed his sincere appreciation to Nhan Dan Newspaper, the Party’s official mouthpiece, for consistently accompanying Thanh Hoa Province in disseminating Party guidelines and policies, as well as the State’s laws, to all segments of the population. In particular, the implementation of key resolutions and conclusions issued by the Party Central Committee and the timely and insightful articles by Nhan Dan Newspaper have helped spread the spirit of innovation, foster social consensus, and inspire action across the provincial political system.

The Secretary of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee noted that the province is currently implementing a two-tier local government model (provincial and district levels), marking a major reform in terms of organisational structure and human resources. At present, there are 606 commune-level administrative units across the province, while the number of full-time staff is just under 500, mostly young and lacking practical experience. Some staff from provincial departments assigned to the grassroots level are still adjusting to local conditions.
“Our young staff are highly enthusiastic but need more time to gain practical experience. We hope press agencies, especially Nhan Dan Newspaper, will continue to accompany us, offering objective, constructive reflections to help guide public opinion and encourage Thanh Hoa’s ongoing transformation,” Nguyen Doan Anh emphasised.

On this occasion, Nguyen Doan Anh extended an invitation to the leadership of Nhan Dan Newspaper to attend key political and cultural events of the province in the near future, including the ceremony commemorating the 100th anniversary of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press Day. He expressed confidence that the cooperative relationship between Nhan Dan and Thanh Hoa Province would grow even stronger, contributing to building a governance model that is proactive, public-serving, and infused with the spirit of reform.
In response, Le Quoc Minh thanked the Thanh Hoa provincial leaders for their thoughtful attention to the press community, especially on the significant occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press Day. He noted that a series of commemorative events would take place from June 19 to 21.
Commenting on the current situation of the press, the Editor-in-Chief said that media agencies are under intense pressure to streamline their operations, accelerate digital transformation, and enhance workforce quality. At Nhan Dan, the number of organisational units has been reduced from 25 to 15. While the restructuring process has been implemented vigorously, it has also faced initial difficulties.
He also shared information about digital transformation and artificial intelligence (AI) training programmes launched by Nhan Dan Newspaper and the Viet Nam Journalists Association. To date, over 2,200 journalists nationwide have attended AI training courses, with a target of 5,000 by 2025. Notably, many remote and disadvantaged localities have actively participated.
Regarding the upcoming second National Press Festival, Le Quoc Minh said the event would gather thousands of participants, featuring 10 in-depth discussion sessions. All costs will be covered via socialised funding sources.
“We aim to make this not only a space for honouring journalists but also an opportunity for learning, connecting, and elevating professional standards,” he added.
“Nhan Dan Newspaper and the Viet Nam Journalists Association will continue to accompany localities, including Thanh Hoa Province, on the journey towards modernising revolutionary journalism. With strong bonds and close collaboration, the relationship between central and local press agencies will continue to thrive, contributing to a professional, humane, and modern press,” Le Quoc Minh concluded at the meeting.
