The APS news agency and Radio Algérie reported that the Vietnamese Government leader was welcomed at the Houari Boumediene International Airport on November 18 night by Algerian PM Sifi Ghrieb and several members of the Government. On the morning of November 19, the two major Algerian media agencies continued their coverage, noting that the two PMs held talks, which provided an opportunity for both sides to honour the depth of friendship and solidarity between the two nations, as well as their shared history of resistance against the French colonialists.

Both leaders underlined the political will of their governments to advance comprehensive cooperation and elevate bilateral ties to a Strategic Partnership.

Al24news reported that PM Chinh laid a wreath and observed a minute of silence in tribute to the martyrs of Algeria’s War of Independence at the Memorial of the Martyr in Algiers. He also toured the national museum of the army, and viewed the Bay of Algiers from the memorial complex, which offers a panoramic view over the capital.
