The event is a highlight in the international series Musical Seasons 2025, hosted by Ho Guom Theatre, and features outstanding performances from the China National Ethnic Song and Dance Ensemble — one of China’s leading art institutions specialising in the performance and preservation of traditional ethnic arts.
Founded in 1952, the China National Ethnic Song and Dance Ensemble is a symbol of cultural diversity, representing China’s 55 ethnic minority groups. With over 70 years of operation, the ensemble has performed in more than 70 countries, leaving a strong impression on the international stage. Notable artists such as director Ding Wei, singer Jiang Dawei, and dancer Yang Liping have all contributed significantly to enhancing the ensemble’s reputation.
According to the organisers, the performances in “Colourful China” not only showcase the beauty of folk dances, traditional melodies, and music, but also convey the core values of Chinese civilisation — a harmonious combination of scholarly depth and popular appeal.
The programme also serves as a cultural bridge that helps strengthen mutual understanding and consolidate the friendship between the peoples of Viet Nam and China, conveying a message of harmony and a shared aspiration for a prosperous and sustainable future.
