The festival will take place in the downtown Bac Ha town and communes of Thai Giang Pho, Ta Chai, ban Pho, Hoang Thu Pho, Na Hoi, Coc Ly, and Ban Lien.
At the opening ceremony, the Bac Ha District People’s Committee will announce the inauguration of a pedestrian street at the Bac Ha night market.
The highlight of this year’s festival is a horse race, which will be launched on the morning of June 3 at the district’s stadium. The final round of the race will be organised on June 10.
Visitors to the festival can explore the cultural practice of the local Mong ethnic group in Ban Pho commune or take on boat tours along the Chay River to visit Hang Tien waterfall.
They can also experience camping activities, and horseback riding, and admire beautiful sunsets and sunrises in the Ngai Thau steppe in Na Hoi commune.
According to Chairman of Bac Ha District People's Committee Dinh Van Dang, the Bac Ha White Plateau Festival aims to promote local tourism potential, making Bac Ha a more popular and attractive destination for visitors to Lao Cai province.
