The bridge, which links Tien Du District and Thuan Thanh Town, features unique architecture comprising five steel arches, which, when reflected on the water’s surface, look like quai thao hats – the local traditional headwear.

The 1,926 billion VND (78.8 million USD) bridge is 1.5 kilometres long and 22.5 metres wide, with a maximum height of 67 metres from the bridge surface to the crest of the tallest arch.

According to Bac Ninh Chairwoman Nguyen Huong Giang, the Kinh Duong Vuong Bridge will improve transport links between the northern and southern sides of the Duong River, as well as between Bac Ninh and other provinces in the Red River Delta.

Tran Dai Bo, a 72-year-old resident in Thuan Thanh, said the new bridge will make it easier and faster to travel to Tien Du, which was previously only accessible by ferry or the congested Ho Bridge.

Duong The Kien, another resident of Tu Son City, said that the Kinh Duong Vuong Bridge will now help him cut travel times to Thuan Thanh, as well as the neighbouring provinces of Hung Yen and Hai Duong.
