Boosting youth cooperation between HCMC, Laos and Cambodia

Vice Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City’s Party Committee Tat Thanh Cang held meetings with youth delegations from Laos and Cambodia on September 8 who had attended the Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia Youth Cooperation Conference in the city on the same day.

At the meeting with youth delegates from Laos, the municipal Party leader affirmed that Ho Chi Minh City is willing to cooperate with Lao localities, particularly in sharing experience and improving the quality of young professionals.

He noted that the two sides should promote youth cooperation activities including cultural exchange activities and youth voluntary activities in addition to fostering links between young entrepreneurs on both sides to contribute to the development of the two countries.

First Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Youth Union Sonthanu Thammavong suggested that Ho Chi Minh City create favourable conditions for cooperation between Lao localities and Ho Chi Minh City, such as youth exchange and training of the Youth Union leaders.

At the meeting with youth delegates from Cambodia, Vice Secretary Cang said that the city will support and create conditions for local youth to strengthen cooperation with Cambodian youth with focus on youth voluntary and charitable activities and youth exchange.

President of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia Hun Many noted that the Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia Youth Cooperation Conference 2017 is an important event to three countries, marking the close cooperation of youth of the three countries and being evidence of the good relationships between Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos.
