Over the years, the Party, State and people of Vietnam and Laos have continuously consolidated and developed the bilateral relationship to a new height, going deeper, more practical and effective in all fields.
The great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos is a priceless common asset of the two peoples, an objective necessity, a historical law and a great source of strength, a foundation for the two countries to promote and pass on to future generations.
The two countries always stand side by side, supporting each other in the cause of innovation, construction, development and protection of the country; In which, defence-security cooperation continues to be maintained and developed, being one of the important pillars in the relationship between the two countries.
The cooperation between the two countries’ Ministries of Public Security in recent years has always been maintained, consolidated, and developed in both breadth and depth, especially in the work of coordinating and exchanging information related to national security, maintaining order and social safety of each country.
Under the close direction of the leaders of the two Ministries, the Vietnamese-Laotian police forces have excellently fulfilled their tasks, ensuring national security and social order and safety, making an important contribution to the construction and development of each country.
In the overall good and comprehensive relationship on diplomatic channels, the Party, State, National Assembly, Ministry of Public Security and other ministries and branches have also actively promoted the implementation of people-to-people diplomacy, one of the three pillars of comprehensive and modern Vietnamese diplomacy, in order to contribute to the effective implementation of public security work arising from the good feelings, traditions, and loyalty of the people of the two countries in general, and the officers and soldiers of the two ministries in particular.
On that basis, in response to the requirements of the new situation, with the attention of the Central Public Security Party Committee, the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, the Central Committee of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association, the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association in the People’s Public Security was officially established in 2018; it is an organisation under the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association.
The establishment of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association in the People’s Public Security is of great significance in promoting existing cooperative relations and opening up a new, substantive and effective cooperation channel between the two countries; is a necessary and meaningful activity; a vivid expression and an important forum for incumbent and retired leaders, officers and soldiers to continue to contribute to building and developing the special and comprehensive solidarity, traditional and cooperative relationship between the two countries in general, and between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Ministry of Public Security of Laos in particular.
The Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association in the People’s Public Security operates with the aim of contributing to enhancing understanding between the police forces of the two countries, consolidating and developing the special friendship, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
Since its establishment, the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association in the People's Public Security has constantly innovated its people’s diplomacy activities, strengthened coordination with the Central Committee of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association to carry out joint activities associated with political tasks and public security work.
Currently, the interim President of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association in the People’s Public Security is holding the position of Vice President and a leader of the Foreign Affairs Department, Ministry of Public Security is a member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association, term V, 2023-2028.
The Association actively carries out propaganda and education activities on the tradition of good relations between the two countries, the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Ministry of Public Security of Laos; raising awareness of officers and soldiers, contributing to consolidating and developing the relationship between the two sides, from which members will apply creativity in their work and practical activities, educating the younger generation to preserve and promote the tradition of relations between the two countries, the two Ministries...
The Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association in the People’s Public Security coordinated with the Central Committee of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association to organize practical and meaningful activities on the anniversaries of the two countries and the two Ministries; organise meetings, express gratitude, and visit veteran comrades, relatives of families who have made many contributions to the development of relations between the two countries and the two Ministries.
It is forecasted that in the coming time, the world and regional situation will continue to develop in a complicated and unpredictable manner; the subjects and partners will be intertwined; both struggle and cooperation will occur..., more than ever, the two Parties, the two States and the people of the two countries must join hands, be united, strongly promote the tradition of solidarity and cooperation, help each other, continue to move the revolutionary cause of the two peoples forward steadily towards the goal of socialism.
The Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association in the People’s Public Security needs to continue to promote its role and position, actively contribute to the work of the Association in particular and strengthen the special friendship between the two countries in general.
With that spirit, the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association in the People’s Public Security will continue to be an important bridge for the everlasting friendship between the Vietnamese and Lao peoples.
