Building Phu Tho into worth-living-in locality

Phu Tho is expected to become a leading industrial, service, and tourism hub of the northern midlands and mountainous regions as well as a prosperous and worth-living-in locality by 2050.

The information was revealed at a conference held in Phu Tho Province on January 10 to announce the planning of the province in the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha said that the province should focus on promoting industrial development in a sustainable and environmentally friendly direction, developing products with high added value, and deeply participating in the global value chain.

Tourism should be defined as a spearhead with cultural tourism associated with ecological tourism, in order to make the province become an attractive destination for domestic and foreign tourists, the deputy PM noted.

He also advised the province to consider urban development as a driving force for economic development with synchronous investment in an ecosystem of industrial parks, high-tech agricultural areas, and modern services.

According to the planning for Phu Tho Province in the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, the province is anticipated to become the leading developing province in the northern midlands and mountainous regions by 2030.

Viet Tri City is also set to become a festival city where intangible cultural heritages of humanity and the roots of the Vietnamese nation will be boosted.

Additionally, two economic corridors will be built: an economic corridor along the Noi Bai-Lao Cai Expressway and an economic corridor along the North-South Expressway in the West.
