That afternoon, spouse Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga received Samuel Chung, Chairman of the RoK Cultural Development Association, along with businesses, chairpersons of design and fashion associations, the Handicrafts Association, the Thread Knotting Association, fashion designers, and businesses from the RoK.
At the National Assembly Museum of the RoK, the two spouses toured the exhibition areas and explored the history of the formation and development of the RoK National Assembly, as well as the country’s legislative process.
This was an opportunity for the two Spouses to deepen ties and exchange views on matters of common interest, contributing to fostering mutual understanding and consolidating a robust and enduring bilateral friendship.
Spouse Cho Mi-seon introduced Spouse Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga to highlights of the exhibition space and shared information about the history of parliamentary activities and democratic values preserved and presented to the Korean public.
Expressing her pleasure at visiting the museum, Spouse Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga spoke highly of the historical and cultural values preserved there. The activity was a meaningful opportunity for her to gain deeper insights into the country and people of the RoK, thereby contributing to nurturing the bonds between the peoples of the two countries.
In a cordial atmosphere, the two spouses discussed similarities in history, culture, and social life, while exchanging views on educational and cultural cooperation and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.
The National Assembly Museum of the RoK is an important cultural and historical space, contributing to bringing the values and activities of the legislative body closer to the public.
In the afternoon’s subsequent activity, receiving Samuel Chung, Chairman of the Korean Cultural Development Association, together with businesses, leaders of design, fashion, handicrafts, and thread-knotting associations, as well as Korean cultural figures, spouse Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga expressed her sincere thanks for the profound contributions of the Korean Cultural Development Association and Chairman Samuel Chung personally to promoting people-to-people exchanges and strengthening cultural cooperation between Viet Nam and the RoK.
She affirmed that culture serves as a bridge and an indispensable catalyst contributing to elevating mutual understanding and strengthening the bonds between the two countries and peoples.
Spouse Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga emphasised that Viet Nam–RoK people-to-people exchanges have been developing very dynamically in recent years; the Vietnamese community in the RoK and the Korean community in Viet Nam are growing steadily, with around 100,000 Viet Nam–RoK multicultural families serving as invaluable bridges between the two peoples.
In Viet Nam, the “Korean Wave” has flourished and is widely loved and embraced by the public, particularly the younger generation. Korean music, films, fashion, cuisine, and cultural products have become very familiar.
Increasing numbers of Korean tourists are visiting Da Nang, Hoi An, and Da Lat, while “Korean neighbourhoods” have emerged and developed vibrantly in Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City.
Spouse Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga shared that, upon arriving in Seoul, the ease with which one can encounter numerous Vietnamese restaurants serving pho and banh mi, along with images of the ao dai and conical hats, is clear evidence that Vietnamese cuisine and culture are also warmly embraced by the Korean people.
Referring to the impressive figure for 2025, with nearly 5 million tourist arrivals between the two countries — more than 4 million Korean visitors to Viet Nam and approximately 500,000 Vietnamese visitors to the RoK, spouse Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga spoke highly of the contribution of the Korean Cultural Development Association through its active organisation of promotional events such as the Viet Nam Tourism–Culture Festival and fashion performance programmes.
Spouse Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga expressed her hope that, in the coming period, the Association would continue to play its role as a bridge and organise more diverse cultural promotion activities, helping the peoples of the two countries gain a deeper understanding of each other’s history, traditions, and people, and making practical contributions to the Viet Nam–RoK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Chairman of the Korean Cultural Development Association Samuel Chung expressed his sincere thanks to Spouse Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga for her attention to cultural exchange cooperation between the two countries and for attending this meaningful activity. He expressed his honour and confidence that, with the Spouse’s attention and support, bilateral cultural exchange relations would continue to thrive.
Samuel Chung emphasised that today’s event was not merely a gathering, but also a starting point for Korean cultural figures and traditional artisans to continue visiting Viet Nam, seek investment opportunities, and expand exchange activities.
As part of the meeting, spouse Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga took part in activities to experience traditional Korean culture, including viewing mother-of-pearl inlay products and handicrafts, and making decorative accessories for traditional Hanbok attire.
Thanking the Association’s members, spouse Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga shared that these practical cultural experiences helped her gain a deeper understanding of the cultural beauty, country, and people of the RoK.
Emphasising that the two countries share many cultural similarities, spouse Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga expressed her wish to welcome Korean businesses and artisans to Viet Nam to engage in exchanges and forge closer connections with Vietnamese artisans and businesses, thereby further strengthening the friendship between the peoples of the two countries.
