Chinese Party leader and President Xi Jinping pays official visit to Vietnam

At the invitation of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong and his spouse, and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Vo Van Thuong and his spouse, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping and his spouse pay a State visit to Vietnam from December 12-13.

General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee and President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping was born in 1953 in Fuping County, Shaanxi Province, China. He joined the Communist Party of China in January 1974. Comrade Xi Jinping was a graduate student in Marxist-Leninist theoretical and political studies at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Tsinghua University. He also had a degree in a Doctor of Law and chemical engineering.

General Secretary and President Xi Jinping has gone through a long process of studying and hold many positions.

He became a member of Politburo Standing Committee, Secretary of the CPC Central Committee Secretariat and President of the Party School of the CPC Central Committee from 2007 to 2008. He was Vice President of the People's Republic of China (PRC) and President of the Party School of the CPC Central Committee between 2008 and 2010. From 2010 to 2012, he was Vice President of the PRC, Secretary of the CPC Central Committee Secretariat, Vice chairman of the CPC Central Military Commission, Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission of the PRC and President of the Party School of the CPC Central Committee.

Xi was a member of Politburo Standing Committee, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, Chairman of the CPC Central Military Commission, Vice President of the PRC and Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission of the PRC between 2012 and 2013. Since 2013, he has served as member of the Politburo Standing Committee, General Secretary of the CPC, Chairman of the CPC Central Military Commission, President of the PRC and Chairman of the PRC Central Military Commission.

President Xi was an alternate member of the 15th CPC Central Committee, a member of the 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th CPC Central Committee, and a member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo Bureau of the CPC Central Committee for the 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th tenures.
