Communication and Education Commission reviews first-half performance

The Central Commission for Communication and Education held a conference on July 8 in Phu Quoc to review its work in the first half of the year and outline tasks for the final six months.

Speaking at the event, Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member and head of the commission, highlighted the outstanding results recorded by the sector during the first six months of the year.

He asked the entire sector to uphold the spirit of proactiveness and creativity, overcome all difficulties and successfully fulfil the set tasks.

The senior Party official called for prompt learning about public opinions and hostile forces’ sabotage activities to quickly deal with complex and sensitive issues.

He also urged the sector to enhance its forecasting ability and supervise cyberspace closely to promptly discover and remove websites and social media accounts that carry toxic and false information.

Earlier on July 7, Head of the Central Commission for Communication and Education Nguyen Trong Nghia offered incense and flowers at the Uncle Ho statue and Phu Quoc Martyrs’ Cemetery on the occasion of his working visit to the island city.
