In their messages, the senior leaders of the Party and State of Viet Nam congratulated the US on the remarkable achievements that have enabled it to become one of the world's leading powers over the past quarter of a millennium. They reaffirmed that Viet Nam regards the US as one of its strategically important partners and expressed the hope that the two countries would continue to deepen their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, opening up new and breakthrough opportunities for cooperation, particularly in such areas as the economy, politics, science and technology.
On the same day, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung sent a congratulatory message to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
