Speaking at the ceremony, Uladzimir Baravikou, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Viet Nam, emphasised the significance of July 3 as a day on which Belarus honours the heroes who sacrificed their lives for the freedom and independence of their homeland and helped save the world from fascism.

The Ambassador reviewed Belarus’s achievements over the past 35 years and noted that today the Republic of Belarus is a modern, strong, and dynamic country with enormous potential.

According to the Ambassador, Belarus is committed to further developing mutually beneficial cooperation with the brotherly people of Viet Nam on the basis of friendship, trust, and mutual understanding during the implementation of the strategic partnership framework established on May 12, 2025. Over the past year, the two countries and their peoples have become even closer through the launch of direct flights and increased political, diplomatic, economic, and people-to-people exchanges.

Ambassador Uladzimir Baravikou expressed his belief that the potential for cooperation between the two countries and their peoples is limitless. Through joint efforts, both sides can overcome any challenges and achieve new milestones in bilateral relations. He also expressed hope that this year would bring practical and effective results from their joint cooperation.

In the warm atmosphere of friendship, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang, on behalf of the Vietnamese Government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, extended her warmest congratulations and sincere sentiments to the ambassador and, through him, to the Belarusian Government and people.

Nearly seven decades have passed since President Ho Chi Minh’s first visit to Belarus in 1957, and the friendship between the peoples of Viet Nam and Belarus has continued to grow, becoming an invaluable asset to both nations. The Vietnamese people always remember and deeply appreciate the valuable support provided by the brotherly people of Belarus during Viet Nam’s past struggle to protect the nation, as well as in the country’s ongoing development process.

The Deputy Minister expressed satisfaction that since the establishment of the strategic partnership in May 2025 during General Secretary To Lam’s visit to Belarus, bilateral cooperation has developed positively across all major fields, including politics, diplomacy, economics, trade, education, transport, and aviation.

According to the Deputy Minister, during this new stage of development for both countries, greater efforts should be made to fully utilise their existing strengths and complementarities to support each other’s development goals while contributing to peace and prosperity in their respective regions and around the world.

Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang expressed confidence that, based on the existing friendship and cooperative foundation, the Viet Nam–Belarus Strategic Partnership would continue to be strengthened and developed, bringing tangible benefits to the peoples of both countries. She wished for the traditional friendship and strategic partnership between Viet Nam and Belarus to continue developing strongly, sustainably and effectively.
