Contributing to the successful completion of military and national defence tasks

General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, and Minister of Defence, hosted a working session on June 6 with several agencies and units under the Ministry of Defence.

To contribute to the successful completion of military and defence tasks in 2024, General Phan Van Giang requested the Judiciary, Inspection, Legal Departments, Audit, Border Guard, and Coast Guard to focus on drastically implementing work and tasks according to the yearly work plan; develop, concretise, and fully and promptly institutionalise policies and solutions on preventing and combating corruption and negativity; build a mechanism to control assets and income, ensuring substance and effectiveness; review and overcome loopholes and inadequacies in mechanisms, policies and laws related to bidding, management and use of public assets; strengthen inspection, supervision, inspection and auditing, focusing on procurement, production and repair of weapons and technical equipment.

Judicial agencies were asked to strictly and lawfully carry out investigation, prosecution, adjudication, and execution of sentences to ensure the right person, the right crime, to avoid wrongful convictions, and to minimise errors and omissions

Meanwhile, the Border Guard and Coast Guard were requested to continue to promote patrolling, inspection, control, handling of law violations, fighting crime, fighting smuggling, counterfeit trade and goods on sea routes and borders, especially in key areas.

General Phan Van Giang also noted that agencies and units should continue to pay attention and build comprehensively strong agencies and units, especially focusing on building a team of qualified and capable officials to meet increasing requirements.
