Da Nang facilitates investment from Japanese enterprises

During the meeting with the Japanese delegation, Chairman of Da Nang City People’s Committee Le Trung Chinh said Japan is the leading country in terms of registered investment capital in Da Nang, with 222 projects worth over 1 billion USD, accounting for 23.5% of the total number of FDI projects and 26% of total FDI capital in the city.

Da Nang has signed memoranda of understanding on the establishment of official friendship and partnership with 15 prefectures and cities of Japan, including the two cities of Yokohama and Kawasaki in Kanagawa Prefecture.

Governor Kuroiwa Yuji said that the organisation of the Kanagawa Festival in Da Nang on November 16 provided an occasion for younger generations in Da Nang and Vietnam’s Central region to gain a better understanding of Kanagawa and Japan, thereby, promoting cooperation in various areas in the future.

The Governor pledged to work with relevant agencies of Vietnam and Japan to boost the opening of more direct flights to connect cities of Kanagawa Prefecture with Da Nang. He will also act as a bridge in calling for further investors and tourists to Da Nang.

The chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City said that many Japanese businesses have invested in the city and Japanese tourists are also the leading international tourists to Da Nang.

The city is calling for Japanese investment in the areas of seaports, aviation, smart city, innovative start-ups, education, and medicine, Chinh added.
