Dak Lak and Mondulkiri review cooperation in ensuring border security and order

The Dak Lak Provincial Border Guard Command and the Mondulkiri Provincial Police of the Kingdom of Cambodia held a meeting in Buon Ma Thuot Ward, Dak Lak Province, on December 12 to summarise the results of cooperation in ensuring security and order in the border area in 2025 and to agree on directions for coordination in 2026.

During the talks, both sides reviewed the results of cooperation in maintaining security and order in the border area in 2025. Accordingly, both sides effectively implemented the contents of the minutes from talks between the Border Guard Command of Viet Nam and the General Commissariat of National Police of Cambodia, as well as the minutes from talks between the Border Guard Command of Dak Lak Province and the Mondulkiri Provincial Police.

The border protection forces of both sides have maintained regular meetings; exchanged information related to management and ensuring security and safety in the border area; and coordinated in combating various types of crimes in the border area.

In the coming time, the two sides agreed to continue strengthening close cooperation in border management and protection; exchanging information on the security situation and the activities of hostile forces; and coordinating in preventing activities that incite division and instability in the border area.

The two forces will continue to cooperate in combating various types of crimes, such as armed robbery, human trafficking, smuggling, economic crimes, arms and explosives trafficking, drug trafficking, illegal hunting, and illegal resource exploitation; strictly handling illegal border crossings; and coordinating the pursuit and apprehension of wanted fugitives who have fled across the border.
